Amazon Alexa recently decided to enter the Instagram atmosphere with the introduction of their own account, @Alexa99. In order to connect with a youthful audience and foster a relationship built on communication and entertainment, Amazon wanted to experiment with a content style that closely emulated the hand-drawn and vibrant graphics most popular in 2020.

I partnered with Amazon and the social media management team to help conceptualize and execute a variety of assets centered around marketing Alexa, communicating with their target audience, and bringing a more relatable image to the @Alexa 99 account.

PROJECT INSIGHT

We don’t want the Alexa Instagram atmosphere to feel like another corporate attempt at selling to an audience.

We want to experiment with approaching the audience through a balanced mix of clever illustrations, informational slides, and shareable content. Although the implementation of the @Alexa99 account is pretty new, we are exploring illustration styles and color combinations that feel lively and inviting, attracting an audience that expects more casual and fun approaches to media.
